OOM: Parking A Rocket
Mar. 24th, 2012 10:03 pmBarbarella narrows her eyes at the "GARAGE ENTRANCE" sign in front of her.
She had been circling around some ice dwarf planet on her way to Tau Ceti when suddenly, she wasn't. Now, her ship and all are hovering outside the "main gate" of the "Milliways Garage and Long Term Parking". Another sign next to a ticket machine encouraged her to "take one" or "wait for valet".
"Now is not the time for a zero-g walk!" She decided and gunned the engine, shooting over the entrance gate and inside the garage. Hundreds of ships and cars and other...things were scattered about in real lined parking spaces like she used to see in the vids. Her computer informed her that an airlock had engaged behind her, and that the atmosphere was now breathable.
She picked far away from the other vehicles (didn't want to get her new paint job scratched up!) and twisted her herself around to see around all sides of her ship.
"Well."
Barbarella shrugs and squeezes out of the cockpit. Knife in boot, check. Gun strapped to hip, check. More gun cartridges, check. She weighs a tiny gun in her hand, unzips the front of her body suit and tucks it into her bra. She jiggles and bounces in the mirror: aha, can't see it! Back up weapon, check! Then, her body suit gets the once over. No tears, check! Take that, wily cavemen of the land without sunrise!
"Adventure isn't going to come to me!"
She slides down through the rear escape hatch and rolls to her feet in front of--
"An elevator?" She squints at the button that reads 'press me :D?'. No floor listings, not other buttons. "I don't know if I should trust a button that wants to be pressed. Are you a naughty button?" The button flashed at her. "Well, at least you're an honest, naughty button." And presses it.
